Before walking down the red carpet celebs like Sarah Hay (left), nominated for her role in Flesh and Bone, check out Secret Room Events'  exclusive In Honor of Golden Globe Awards Style Lounge. This festive and lavish event, at the SLS Hotel Main Ballroom in Beverly Hills, took place last Friday and our own Betty Boop was there! 

The adorable Betty Boop gift bags, created especially for this exclusive event, are our way of saying "congratulations" to all the talented artists nominated for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's prestigious Golden Globe Awards honoring excellence in film and television.

Check out this fun and fanciful bra designed and built by Max Fleischer's own great-grand daughter Karin Kneitel!

Karin built this ingenious, one-of-a-kind masterpiece as a "Cups for a Cure" contest sponsored by her employer PSEG. Designed to raise cancer awareness and benefit local breast cancer organizations, the contest asks entrants to create bra designs which are then voted on by pledging a dollar to the design of one's choice. 

"I love anything having to do with creative thought; totally my passion my whole life." says Karin. "I can’t wait till I retire so I can make things full time even just for the fun of it. I’m exploding inside to do this stuff." 

You can't vote for Karin's very appropriately named "Betty's-Boobs-for-a-Cure" bra - this is an in-house contest for employees-only - but if you love this idea, as we do, take a moment to enjoy Karin's incredible handiwork and then give to the breast cancer charity of your choice - or any of the great organizations supported by this contest:

• Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program
  
• Karen Allen Donovan Foundation in Partnership with Bra-ha-ha
• Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Long Island

Love Betty Boop? Love cake? Then check out this fantastic Betty Boop Cake Board on Pinterest that was started by Jeni Mahoney, Max Fleischer's great-granddaughter. "They just all felt so playful and fun!" says Jeni. "And they're also just really impressive." Jeni thought it would be fun to gather them as inspiration for anyone looking for great cake ideas... and we couldn't agree more. What a great way to celebrate!
