FLeischer studios' miami home designated as a historical landmark!

Thanks to the City of Miami for creating this amazing video!

On October 14th, in an unveiling ceremony attended by Mark Fleischer (Max's grandson and current Head of Fleischer Studios), the City of Miami official designated Fleischer Studios' Miami home as a historical landmark.

The building, which was one of the first fully air-conditioned buildings in the State of Florida, was constructed in 1938 to accommodate the equipment, and 750 employees, needed to create the Studio's first feature-length film, Gulliver's Travels while also continuing to produce successful shorts including the Fleischer's hugely successful Popeye cartoon and critically acclaimed Superman series. Miami served the home of Fleischer Studios until it was shuttered, and eventually closed, by Paramount Studios in 1942.

Thanks to the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and everyone who came out for this special day!

Attendees at the unveiling ceremony came together to recreate the photo of Fleischer Studios staff. The fountain may be gone, but the spirit of Fleischer Studios remains!

This festive and lavish event, at the SLS Hotel Main Ballroom in Beverly Hills, took place last Friday and our own Betty Boop was there!

The adorable Betty Boop gift bags, created especially for this exclusive event, are our way of saying "congratulations" to all the talented artists nominated for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's prestigious Golden Globe Awards honoring excellence in film and television.
